Everyone is entitled to be an active cultural participant at all stages of life. The Linenhall Arts Centre, Castlebar is delighted to offer free dementia friendly Azure Tours based on the gallery’s exhibitions.
Azure tours are specifically designed to support people living with dementia and their family, friends or carers. The tour will explore how we look and interact with art, and will be led by Visual Artist Norah Brennan.
The duration of each tour is about 50 minutes followed by a cup of tea and a chat. We have limited space on each tour.
The tour is free and advanced booking is essential.

Visual art is an ideal topic of conversation for people with dementia and Alzheimer’s. One of the biggest issues with Alzheimer’s disease is short-term memory loss. You don’t need your memory to continue to look at art and discuss it.
