This website is designed to promote and inform the public and our audiences about the work of the Linenhall Arts Centre. The Linenhall Arts Centre is committed to respecting your privacy. Any personal information which you volunteer through this website will be treated with the highest standards of security and confidentiality, in accordance with the Data Protection Acts, 1998 and 2003 and the General Data Protection Regulation 2018.

This privacy policy statement outlines what data we collect, why we store it and how it is used.

What do we use your information for?

The information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways

  • To process transactions
  • For the express purpose of delivering the purchased tickets, products or services requested, contacting you as necessary about your order.

  • Your information helps us to better respond to your individual needs.
  • To administer a contest, promotion, survey or other site feature.

Ticketing Data

When you purchase tickets, gift vouchers, or give a donation through our box office at the Linenhall Arts Centre, your name, email, phone number, address and eircode will be stored by our ticketing partner, Ticketsolve.

Online Data


When you book tickets online, data is shared between Realex (payment gateway), and Ticketsolve (ticketing platform) in order to process the transaction. Where patrons have opted to provide their details for mailings via email, data will be shared with MailChimp (our email partner). Where patrons have opted to provide their details for postal mailings, data will be shared with Multi-Color Corporation (our postal partner).

Ticketsolve acts as a data processor on behalf of Linenhall Arts Centre.

Ticketsolve, Realex, Mailchimp, Multi-Color Corporation and Linenhall Arts Centre have implemented appropriate technological measures to protect against accidental loss, destruction, damage, alteration or disclosure.

Record retention periods

Customer Data

  • Customer Data on Ticketsolve: Removed after 7 years of inactivity
  • Customer Data on MailChimp: Removed after 7 years of inactivity
  • Consent Forms: 2 years
  • Photographic consent forms: 2 years

Mailing list

When you sign up for our mailing list, either at the time of booking or separately through our online sign up form, we collect personal information. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to share information such as upcoming shows; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check that our records are correct and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We also gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our marketing. You can unsubscribe by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing info@thelinenhall.com.

We use the Legitimate Interests legal basis for postal marketing meaning you may receive a Season Brochure from us within 3 years of your last purchase. To opt out of postal marketing, just email info@thelinenhall.com or call Box Office on 094 9023733.

Links to external sites

There are several links throughout the Linenhall Arts Centre website to external sites, which do not operate under the Linenhall’s privacy practices. When you visit these websites, the Linenhall’s privacy practices no longer apply. We encourage visitors to review each site’s privacy policy before disclosing any personally identifiable information.

The Linenhall has implemented generally accepted standards of technology and operational security in order to protect personally identifiable information from loss, misuse, alteration or destruction. Only authorised Linenhall personnel are provided access to personally identifiable information and these employees have agreed to maintain the confidentiality of this information.

The Linenhall's Social Media & Commenting Policy

The Linenhall Arts Centre has a social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin and YouTube. The Linenhall's Social Media Channels are used to promote our work and those of our colleagues in the arts industry. We also like to have some fun now and then with other (mostly) arts related content from Ireland and around the world as well as competitions for tickets and Gift Vouchers.

We want our Social Media Channels to be a forum for everyone, where ideas and information are shared, however we expect that this will be done in a respectful manner. We are required to restrict access to our Social Media Channels as necessary to comply with applicable laws; for example Facebook’s Community Standards and our own followers and service users.

Therefore we reserve the right to delete content that contains any or all the following:

  • Direct threats
  • Self-injury
  • Terrorist organization associations
  • Bullying and Harassment
  • Criminal activity
  • Attacks on public figures
  • Sexual exploitation
  • Nudity
  • Hate Speech
  • Violence or Graphic Content
  • Repetitive Posting
  • Fraud and Spam; and/or Infringement of intellectual property
  • Regulated goods

We reserve the right to remove any content that does not necessarily represent the views of the Linenhall. We will remove such content at our absolute discretion. All comments should be respectful and contain language that is appropriate for all groups and ages. Content that is obscene, indecent, defamatory or offensive will be removed. We reserve the right to block users from our Social Media Channels.

If an individual repeatedly violates this Commenting Policy or has undertaken or is undertaking any type of legal proceedings against the Linenhall, we reserve the right to block that user from posting on our channels. We encourage all users of our social space to act respectfully to other users and to be active members of this community.
