Education
Our schools programme provides a range of high-quality arts experiences for local primary school pupils.
The Linenhall Arts Centre has been running a Visual Art Programme for Schools for many years. It is run in conjunction with the Linenhall’s gallery exhibition programme, and comprises of gallery tours and hands-on visual art workshops. We have been using Visual Thinking Strategies techniques for the facilitation of these discussions.
Through offering a Visual Arts Programme to schools we ensure access to the visual arts to a broad socio-economic spread of children. Participating school groups are encouraged to attend the programme as often as possible, and repeat visits have evidenced increasing confidence in children in relation to visual art.
- A Visual Art Programme for Schools in conjunction with our year-round visual arts exhibition and gallery programme
- Commissioning an annual Visual Arts Exhibition designed specifically for children
- Participatory arts workshops in a variety of art forms throughout the year
- Theatre, music and dance performances which are designed specifically for young audiences
Please note that we include a variety of events for schools in our ongoing programme across theatre, music, storytelling and more. If you are a school and would like to work with us then please contact our Arts Access Officer Deirdre Melvin at access@thelinenhall.com.
We consider all our work with schools hugely important in terms of ensuring arts provision for all young people. Schools are notified of upcoming events. School bookings are taken strictly on a first-come-first-served basis.
