About The Linenhall
The Linenhall is a thriving arts centre in Castlebar, serving the people of Mayo and beyond with a vibrant programme of theatre, music, dance, visual arts, film and workshops for children and adults of all ages.
We are looking to build a friendly and enthusiastic Front of House Volunteer Team to help us welcome audiences and support the smooth running of performances, events, exhibitions and workshops throughout the year.
About the Opportunity
Our Front of House volunteers play an important role in creating a warm, welcoming and inclusive experience for everyone who visits The Linenhall.
Working alongside the Front of House and wider venue team, volunteers will help welcome audiences, assist with seating, provide information, support audience safety and comfort, and help ensure our spaces are ready for events.
This is a great opportunity for anyone who enjoys meeting people, has an interest in the arts, or would like to become more involved in their local arts community.
How You’ll Help:
-Welcome audiences, check tickets and assist with seating and general enquiries.
-Provide a friendly and inclusive experience for all visitors, including those with accessibility or additional needs.
-Support the smooth running of performances, workshops and events, including audience flow, latecomers and programme distribution.
-Help prepare and reset theatre and event spaces, keeping public areas clean, tidy and safe.
-Support visiting artists and the wider venue team when required.
-Follow health and safety procedures and assist with emergency evacuations when needed.
-Report any incidents, hazards or concerns to a member of the venue team.
We are looking for people who are:
- Friendly, welcoming and approachable.
- Comfortable communicating with members of the public.
- Reliable and able to work as part of a team.
- Calm and helpful in busy environments.
- Interested in the arts, culture or their local community.
- Respectful of people of all backgrounds, abilities and access needs.
- Available to volunteer at evening and/or weekend events.
-Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, events or the arts is welcome but is not essential.
What You’ll Gain
-Meet new people and become part of our arts community.
-Gain experience in front of house, audience services and live events.
-Develop customer service, communication and event-support skills.
-Learn more about how an arts venue operates.
-Experience a wide range of performances, events and activities.
-Build confidence and take on additional responsibilities as you gain experience.
