A riveting true story of resilience! This is classic storytelling and the stakes could not be any higher. The rising action leads to a climax that will keep you on the edge of your seat right to the end.
Trawled is a one-man bio drama, written and performed by Eoin Ryan originally from Castlebridge. On the back of his highly commended TEDx performance Eoin brings the full epic story of his backpacking adventure working on a prawn trawler on Australian waters to life.
There he discovers a rarely seen world of hard labour and even harder fishermen, where drinking, fighting, storms and hungry sharks are a part of everyday life. Trawled captures what one crew member describes as ‘the craziest six weeks of fishing ever’. But when conflict on board reaches a climax, what began as adventure ultimately degenerates into a gripping struggle to stay alive.
Told in raw, uncompromising language, this is a jaw dropping story of adventure, crisis and brutality, culminating in an unforgettable moment of redemptive grace.
Please note: This play contains mentions of suicidal ideation, which may be upsetting to some viewers. Suitable for over 16’s.
