The Linenhall World Book Club

Welcome to the Linenhall World Book Club. A monthly meeting for curious readers who love great books. Our global selections will cover all formats: from serious literature to light summer reads, modern fiction, translations, earlier works or popular classics.

Our December selection is:

The Promise by Damon Galgut

The Promise charts the crash and burn of a white South African family, living on a farm outside Pretoria. The Swarts are gathering for Ma's funeral. Winner of the 2021 Booker Prize

Book Club members will be encouraged to get actively involved in the selection process in the succeeding months. The book for the following month will be decided at the end of each session.

About the host
Michael Minassie is a Journalist, with over thirty years experience. He is producer and host of Mekelle Foresight, a high profile interview show on politics of the Horn of Africa. He also contributes to Community Radio Castlebar FM.
