Grá & Buíochas Luke YD Davis

Luke YD Davis' new exhibition Grá & Buíochas will open at 5.30pm at the Linenhall in Castlebar on Thursday 2nd July. Created over three years, the exhibition brings together more than seventy meditative piece, inspired by the universal nature of things and his deep spiritual connection to the workings of its forms. Each artwork begins with a blank canvas, evolving organically as Luke allows the pen or mediums to lead the way, finishing only when “the form is completed.” The result is a unique and intimate expression of how he sees and feels the world — calm, reflective, and full of evolving beauty.

Already known as a talented singer-songwriter, Luke has always shared his artistic journeys throughout his life creating artworks and sharing them with family and friends. In this exhibition he invites us to pause and experience the world of constant energy, through his own eyes. Luke has been described as a ‘meditative artist’ by Niall Mc Monagle (Sunday Independent). His column coincided with Luke’s retrospective exhibition at the Clew Bay Hotel (2022).
