A Syndicate* A. Hunt

Friday 28 August - Saturday 10 October 2026

Launch: Fri 28 Aug at 5pm

Please note: The launch will incorporate a performance that begins at 5.30pm. Audiences are welcome to move freely in and out of the gallery throughout.

Drawing on an artistic inquiry of expansive relational frameworks, A. Hunt’s practice unpacks questions of proximity, attention, and support from both an infrastructural and embodied vantage point. Traversing Sculpture, Installation, and Live Art, this work abstractly rehearses ‘togethering’ beyond Hegemonic (Capitalist and Heteronormative) organizational agendas, both from a researched and lived point of view in the artist’s life.

The visual components use various metalwork techniques including metal casting, and the forging, forming, and cutting of steel. The aluminium pieces, cast from the negative space between the bodies of Hunt’s companions and artistic community, work with principals of orientation, distance, and negotiation in both the visual and live art elements of the show. Regarding the works as interpersonal ‘tools’ both by the manner in which they are displayed and activated in performance, Hunt’s exploration beyond dominant relational models suggests an ‘efforting’ of flickering potentiality, sidestepping any arrival into societal obsessions for clarity and fixedness.
