Urban Sketch Club with Betty Gannon

Time to get your sketchbook and pencil, take them into the world!

Join our brand new sketch club for over 50s and discover the joy of drawing on location, indoors or outdoors. We will capture what we see from direct observation, telling the story of our surroundings and everyday life.

Led by Betty Gannon, all are warmly welcomed and will be guided with fundamental skills for sketching and drawing with whatever materials you choose to use.

Whether you haven’t drawn since school or are a seasoned artist, all levels and experience are warmly welcome. Enjoy relaxed, supportive session, meet new people and explore local places at ease with us.

Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing is advised. Please feel free to bring your own drawing materials and a small mat or cushion for comfort


Urban Sketch Club is a collaboration between Linenhall Arts Centre, Castlebar & Customs House Studios, Westport, created in celebration of Bealtaine Arts Festival.

Bealtaine is Ireland’s national festival celebrating the arts and ageing, organised by Age & Opportunity, offering creative opportunities for people aged 50+ across the country.
