To Begin, and Begin Again
An Exploration of Beginnings through Philosophy, Fiction and other Creative Media.
Saturday, 18 April 2026
11am - 2pm
Adult Workshop
€25
Are you a Middle-aged Adventurer with a Passion for the Creative Arts?
The overall aim of this workshop is to promote an engagement with the possibility of beginnings and to open up a path through participants accumulated ‘knowledge’ to new or different approaches to beginning and being in the moment.
Our exploration will be grounded in philosophical thinking, mainly from the western tradition and creative writing, in particular Irish fiction and memoir which documents and captures the Irish experience of socio-cultural identity construction. While the sessions will use these as discussion reference points, the course will seek to engage widely with many different and diverse cultural reference points, provided by the facilitator and the group.
All welcome.
