Nine Bi-Weekly Sessions Starting January 26.
Castlebar based traditional accordion player Eamonn Abberton agus a chairde will lead our bi-weekly slow sessions. Trad tunes are played at a slower than normal pace (often less than half the speed), so that near-beginner and intermediate players can more easily learn the tunes and join in the session. The idea of this session is to start slow… we start as slowly as necessary so that everyone can join in, and maybe we gradually get faster. We also hope to share tunes and build a repertoire of tunes. Tunes will be from slow airs, hornpipes, barndances, marches, waltzes, jigs and reels.
Eamonn most recently guided Ceoltoiri Carolan Turlough to winning first place at the Mayo Fleadh 2024.
