Tar Liom | Come with Me

This audio visual, bilingual performance of song, poetry and story traverses the landscape of Co. Mayo’s Ox mountains. Interwoven with a personal narrative of coming home to the Irish language, stories found in the dúchas.ie archives and local folklore are fused with original songs, rhymes and insights, to reflect the resonant themes of land, language and belonging.

Sharon Ní Chuilibín is an artist, singer/songwriter, musician and teacher whose work forms part of the ‘Mapping Stories | Scéalmhapáil' Bolay exhibit, currently showing in our upstairs gallery.

A lunchtime concert, at which beautiful large scale visuals and uncovered archival footage will feature, presents an opportunity to explore concepts including: sense of place, awakening of the Irish language, memory and giving a voice to the landscape.

Be prepared to be spellbound.

Sharon also looks forward to a cup of tea, and comhrá a dhéanamh i nGaeilge agus i mBéarla with those in attendance.
