Box Office/Administration Assistant – Community Employment Scheme

The Linenhall Arts Centre is always on the lookout for dynamic, enthusiastic people who will strengthen our team and help us improve the services we provide for the community.

We are currently looking for a part-time Box Office and Administration Assistant with an interest in the arts to join our team. The post-holder will be responsible for the Linenhall’s reception area, will deal with the public daily and will positively promote the services we provide in all interactions with the public. You will be part of the customer facing team, providing a friendly and helpful welcome on behalf of the company and contribute to administration requirements and other departments as required.

The Linenhall Arts Centre
provides an arts service for all in the community by programming high-quality arts experiences across a wide and diverse range of art forms, supporting practicing artists by providing a forum for their work and developing opportunities for all in our community to participate in, and engage with art. We have a 144 seat theatre, a visual art gallery and a coffee shop.

This is a hands-on role that requires strong interpersonal skills and attention-to-detail.

This is a part-time position which includes Saturday. Hours are 19.5 per week. The Box Office/Administration Assistant will primarily report to the General Manager and occasionally to the Director and the Arts Access Officer.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:


Box Office/Reception/Administration

* Respond to customer enquiries in person and by telephone, mail and email.
* Process tickets sales for all Linenhall Arts Centre shows/workshops/events both online and in person, by mail and email. The Linenhall Arts Centre ticketing system is Ticketsolve and full training will be provided.
* Maintain an effective and efficient system of bookings and correspondence and to communicate this effectively to the rest of the team when required.
* Promote the Linenhall’s Friends and Membership Schemes to the public.
* Stay up-to-date on all news and events and exhibitions at the Centre and to share this with the public as required.
* Contribute efficiently to the daily activities of Box Office and smooth running of reception.
* Comply with all Health and Safety regulations and emergency evacuation and safety procedures, as directed by Management.
* General administration will be required including the production of written materials including basic signage, emails and other correspondences as required.
* Supporting the marketing team where required.
* Assist in the day-to-day running of the office, including distributing marketing materials etc.

Desirable requirements:
Computer skills.
Customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
A friendly welcoming manner is essential.
