The Touchstones presentation by artist James Winnett

Join the artist James Winnett for a presentation on his public art project: The Touchstones.

Launched in November 2025, these ten intricately carved stone sculptures can be found at sites in Breaffy, Islandeady, Turlough and Raheens Woods.
The designs for each stone draw on the folklore, social memory and history of the area to weave a new story into the landscape. The stones are carved by hand using traditional techniques through a style that merges historical references with fantastical imagery. James will provide a virtual tour of the stones, sharing insights into his creative process while discussing his career journey as an artist.
