Pamwe Pamwe ag Lonrú bring together an international crew of multidisciplinary artists, Andrew Ilsley (UK), Fiona Dowling (Ireland/France), Juan Echenique (Argentina), Ciara Finan (Ireland), around a shared love of mbira music. Band members trained with mbira masters Chartwell Dutiro, Ambuya Tembo, Forward Kwenda, Erica Azim and Rodrigo Laje among others.

They perform tunes and songs from the repertoire of the Shona People from Zimbabwe, where the mbira is traditionally used within ceremonies to receive guidance from the ancestors. If you have not heard it before, mbira music is hypnotic, soothing, rousing, healing, trancey, compelling. You are in for a treat!

They will be joined by special guests from the Mayo Mbira Project. Supported by SICAP.
