Not Just A Spud

Fund raiser for Gaza

Get ready for a performance like no other! Not Just A Spud takes you on a powerful and thought-provoking journey through Irish history — all through the surprising eyes of a humble potato.

From 1589 right up to today, discover how this small crop shaped a nation’s culture, survival, and identity.

Witty, moving, and unflinchingly relevant, the show also draws striking parallels between the Irish famine of 1845 and present-day events in Gaza, revealing how something as simple as food can be turned into a weapon.

Written and performed with passion by Kevin Cunningham, this is history, theatre, and storytelling at its most original.

All proceeds go to registered charity UNICEF Gaza Crisis Appeal.

UNICEF is responding right now. Help rush life-saving food to children today.

Famine has now been officially declared in Gaza. Children are not just at risk of starvation – many are already dying. They are weak, thirsty and suffering – their lives hanging by a thread. Over 100 children have died of starvation so far. Urgent action is needed to save more children from the same terrible fate.

Aid corridors remain open for UN agencies. We must rush as much emergency, life-saving food and supplies into Gaza as quickly as possible to reach children today.

Every single person in Gaza is hungry, and hundreds of thousands are now in catastrophic conditions. Children make up the vast majority of those who have died from starvation. It is too late for far too many in Gaza, but not for every child. There is still hope. Our teams are working tirelessly to reach them, but they urgently need your help.
