WhistleBlast at 21 brings a wonderful live multimedia performance suitable for all… featuring the quartet’s greatest hits including Stravinsky’s Petrushka, Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf and more - all accompanied by captivating visual images and video footage.
The quartet will perform selections from these symphonic masterpieces accompanied by compelling imagery and video, including a shadow puppet animation, images from contemporary artists and the iconic photographer Ernst Haas, making these concerts truly unique and immersive for all audiences; WhistleBlast aims to inspire and encourage all ages to develop or begin their journey of exploring exciting live performance. The quartet’s mini orchestral sound is a great introduction and inspiration to this world of wonderful music.
Performances are one hour in duration and will be followed by a short Q&A session with the musicians. Suitable for schools, families and the general public.

The WhistleBlast Quartet: Conor Linehan (Piano), Ken Edge (Sax and Clarinet), Oonagh Keogh (Violin) & Mary Curran (French Horn) devise extensive, unique outreach/performance programmes facilitating young people and wider communities to engage positively with best quality live music. Our focus is to provide excellent, interactive experiences of live music for all communities of all backgrounds, diverse circumstances, plus multi generational special needs to integrate & also become future audiences.
