Seamie O’Dowd

Although Seamie O’Dowd’s work as a guitarist often overshadows his fiddle playing, suggestions that he make a recording as a fiddle player, keeping his talent in public view have come from many admirers, including Martin Hayes, Seamus Tansey and Dick Gaughan.

Seamie learned to play fiddle from his parents, Sheila O’Dowd (nee Regan) and Joe O’Dowd, both fiddle players from the south Sligo region who are deeply rooted in its long renowned music traditions.

Now he launches his new CD, Further Down the Line - very much a tribute to the tradition that inspired Seamie for decades.

Seamie will be accompanied by Patrick Doocey on guitar.
