New York, 1961. The Bill Evans Trio, led by the acclaimed jazz pianist and composer, are operating at the height of their creative powers. When bass player Scott LaFaro tragically dies in a car accident, Evans is consumed by grief. Struggling with addiction, burnout and a tumultuous romantic relationship, Evans reconnects with his family as he battles against his increasingly debilitating personal demons.

Everybody Digs Bill Evans is a refreshingly candid music biopic that avoids the simple hagiography of many films in the genre. Shot in stunning black & white, what emerges is a portrait of a legendary musician who was also a deeply complex and tortured man.
