A product of Dublin’s legendary An Góilín Traditional Singers’ Club, Farrell has built an international reputation for his deeply authentic interpretations of traditional songs and stories.
Since launching his solo career at Celtic Connections in 2016, he has received multiple nominations and awards from the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards, alongside praise from leading figures including Christy Moore, Dónal Lunny and Mark Radcliffe. His acclaimed 2023 album The Wedding Above In Glencree reached No. 11 on the UK Folk Albums Chart and earned widespread critical praise.
A captivating live performer and 2013 All-Ireland Champion Singer, Farrell has toured extensively across Ireland, the UK, Europe, North America and Australia, appearing at major festivals worldwide.
