Mick Donnellan is a versatile author, playwright, and screenwriter, with five acclaimed novels.
Beyond fiction, Mick’s work has made a mark on stage and screen. His play Radio Luxembourg was adapted into the film Tiger Raid, which starred Brian Gleeson, Sofia Boutella, and Damian Molony. The film received excellent reviews and made a significant impact at the Tribeca Film Festival, as well as at Cannes and Edinburgh. His screenplay Sam—centered around the legendary curse of the Mayo Football team—blends Irish lyricism with modern dark humor and has drawn strong interest from film producers. Florence Films has described Mick as “the Irish Tarantino.”
His plays, known for their gripping storytelling, have sold out venues across Ireland, with the Truman Town Theatre company bringing his distinctive voice to stages nationwide. Mick’s work with Druid Theatre and RTÉ further solidifies his reputation in the Irish arts scene. Irish Theatre Magazine hailed him as “a welcome new voice in Irish writing.”
