Luka Bloom: Wave Up To The Shore, Linenhall Arts Centre, Castlebar | Wednesday, October 21st

In 1972, a young Barry Moore wrote a song called "Wave Up To The Shore." It sparked a remarkable journey that eventually led him to board a plane for New York in 1987, where the legendary moniker Luka Bloom was born. Across a celebrated career spanning over five decades, Bloom has brought his powerful, acoustic-driven songwriting to massive festival stages worldwide—including Glastonbury, Roskilde, and the Newport Folk Festival—while remaining deeply rooted on the island of Ireland.

Now living in County Clare, Bloom has released 17 independent albums since 2000 alone, creating a vast body of work that acts as a place of refuge, connection, and raw truth. This special concert celebrates 50 years of songcraft, drawing from his landmark triple-album Wave Up To The Shore alongside beloved tracks from Bittersweet Crimson, Refuge, and Frúgalisto.

Join one of Ireland's most respected and enduring contemporary folk artists for an evening of exceptional guitar work, pure spirit, and masterful storytelling.
