Join us for the launch of poet Jean Tuomey’s latest collection Vanishing, published by Lapwing Press.

Here is a rare thing in contemporary poetry — a book redolent of gardens and the natural world, a hymn to beauty, to colour, to the grace of enduring and steadfast hope, a paean to love given and received. At the same time, and interweaving with all this, a book that looks without flinching at the death of parents, at a tough medical diagnosis, at the fragilities of life. There is grief here, certainly, contained to be sure but never flinched from. Tuomey's gratitude for the gift of life is neatly and meticulously stitched into every word, line, phrase and verse. (Theo Dorgan on Vanishing)
