Is eternal life worth not having fun now? Are there lasting side-effects of over-indulgence in religion in your formative years? Alternatively, what happens when a heathen buys a Bible?

In this hilarious yet poignant show Sharon VS traces the root of all her mid-life crises to divine self radicalisation in her teens and Mari Volar questions if God is really a bad guy or just made-up. Mari Volar was born into an atheist authoritarian regime (she was born in the USSR, this isn’t an euphemism for having a very strict father), whereas Sharon VS semi-accidentally self-radicalised in her teens and became a full time Jesus superfan for more than a decade.

The result of this unorthodox union is this show - “50 ways Jesus (almost) ruined my life”.

Ever since its full run at Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2024, the show has become even bigger and better and is now making its way to Ireland in February 2026.

According to Theatre Scotland this ★★★★ show is “cleverly crafted and done tastefully”; “very funny and resonates with a modern audience” and “worth catching if you have any views at all on religion and the effects it can have later on in life”.

Spoiler alert: this show may include the most entertaining confessional in history
