Gospel Unity, Bockenem

The Gospel choir "Gospel Unity, Bockenem" is on the road again.

After tours in Norway, South Africa, and Canada, the choir is now in Ireland for the second time. In 2018, the enthusiastic singers traveled through the west of Ireland and also gave concerts there.

The choir hails from a small town in southern Lower Saxony and rehearses with about 40 singers under the direction of Ulrike Bourehil. The piano accompanies the four-part singing, and Cajon and Djembe provide the rhythm. With great joy in singing, the choir performs around 10 concerts in Hildesheim and its surroundings each year, captivating its audience with Gospels, Spirituals, and Pop songs. They sing in various African languages and English.

"Traveling is important for us to get to know the land and its people and to promote our community," says one of the travel organizers. "With 25 active members, we will be giving our concerts in Ireland and are looking forward to it very much."
