Announcing Rockin’ the Classroom an Exciting Music Project for Junior Infants to Second Class
As part of RoolaBoola Children’s Arts Season 2020 the Linenhall Arts Centre has joined forces with Branar Téatar do Pháistí and Lime Tree Theatre to present Rockin’ the Classroom an exciting new music project for Junior Infants to Second Class pupils.
Rockin’ the Classroom brings the music from Branar’s lively musical show Rockin’ Rhymes into the classroom environment. Performed by a band of 5 musicians, Rockin’ Rhymes is a rock-n-roll adventure, featuring nursery rhymes as you’ve never heard them before, reimagining them using blues, rock and funk riffs.
Rockin’ the Classroom offers children and teachers the opportunity to enjoy and explore these nursery rhyme classics, discover the world of music and learn about music making. The project also hopes to inspire and support children to create their own rocking rhymes.
Each class will receive a CD album, a dedicated education pack for teachers and exclusive access to a short series of videos introducing children to the band itself and their instruments.
Each class pack is FREE. Post and packaging is €7.50 per pack.
There is limited availability for this project so early registration is essential. The closing date for registration is 5pm Friday 23rd October.
As noted in the Primary School Music Curriculum “Music offers lifelong opportunities for the development of imagination, sensitivity, inventiveness, risk-taking and enjoyment.” Rockin’ the Classroom aims to support the early steps in this music journey.
