Splendid Isolation with Pauline McSorley

Welcome to the latest edition in our Splendid Isolation series and this week it's with Achill-based artist, Pauline McSorley!

Pauline describes herself as a 'submerged' artist (you'll need to watch to see what she means!) and talks about the life-changing experience that brought her to where she is now. This is a warm and generous interview with Pauline sharing lots of insight into her artistic practice and her life in Achill and we hope you enjoy it.

This series involves interviews with various artists and performers looking at how they are surviving (or thriving!) during the COVID-19 crisis and how their artform has been affected. The series initially started off with artists who had a show/performance rescheduled at the Linenhall as a result of the 2020 lockdown. After a call out on social media asking the Mayo community to suggest or volunteer an artist they would like to hear from during lockdown, the series now has a focus on Mayo artists.
