Linenhall Board Member Alice Maher announced as recipient of first Visual Artists Ireland Members Award 2015
Congratulations to Linenhall Arts Centre board member Alice Maher on receiving the first ever 'Visual Artists Ireland Members Award' in recognition of the significant contribution she has made to the development of the visual arts in Ireland.
The announcement and presentation took place on Friday, 15th
May at 5:30pm during Visual Artists Ireland’s National Day for Visual
Artists – Get Together which took place in The Irish Museum of Modern
Art. The presentation was made on behalf of Visual Artists Ireland’s
membership by Noel Kelly, Chief Executive Officer of Visual Artists
Ireland. Alice Maher was one of ten artists nominated by members of Visual
Artists Ireland. The nominations were open to any visual artist working
and/or living on the island of Ireland. The vote was by secret ballot
and was conducted earlier this year.
