EXHIBITION CELEBRATES THE LIFE OF A MAYO HERO

We are really excited and delighted to be part of the forthcoming visual art project Kathleen Lynn: Insider on the Outside, presented by Mayo Arts Collaborative in five venues around Mayo

The show celebrates the life and work of Mayo-born doctor, suffragette and political activist Kathleen Lynn, who was a member of the Irish Citizen Army and its Chief Medical Officer during the 1916 Rising, and subsequently went on to establishSt. Ultan's Hospital for Infants in Dublin in 1919. The show, curated by Catherine Marshall, features work by 13 contemporary artists - Michelle Browne, Gary Coyle, Patrick Graham, Mary Kelly, Johanna Hopkins, Deirdre O’Mahoney, Margo Mc Nulty, Janet Mullarney, Seamus Nolan, Conor O’Grady, Will O’Kane, Geraldine O’Reilly and Dermot Seymour. The participating venues are: Áras Inis Gluaire, Ballina Arts Centre, Ballinglen Arts Foundation, Customs House Studios and, of course, the Linenhall. The exhibition opens on Saturday 26th March and runs until Saturday 30th April. For lots more information, check out the dedicated website www.kathleenlynn.net
